Lea Tahuhu is a New Zealand female cricketer. Tahuhu is one of the famous fast bowlers in women’s cricket. She bowls at over 126mph.

Her full name is Lea Marie Maureen Tahuhu. She was born on 23 September 1990 in Christchurch, New Zealand. Tahuhu started playing cricket from school level.

She went to Aranui High School in Christchurch. At the age of 18, she won the Peter Hooton Memorial Scholarship and Tahuhu started playing domestic cricket. At the age of 20, she made into the squad of White Ferns.

In 2011, Tahuhu played her debut international match against Australia, where her performance was not remarkable.

Tahuhu was the part of 2013 world cup series which was held in India. In this series, she took her career-best 4 of 27 against Sri Lanka.

Tahuhu emerged as the most trusted bowler in death overs, as she has the talent of attacking batswoman with her pace.

In 2018 she got the central contract from New Zealand Cricket.

Lea Tahuhu plays for Melbourne Renegades in Women’s Big Bash League.

Lea Tahuhu came out as a lesbian. She married her teammate and fellow cricketer, Captain of New Zealand cricket team Amy Satterthwaite.

Tahuhu and Satterthwaite both played domestic cricket for state team Canterbury Magicians from 2010.
They began a relationship and got engaged in 2014. The couple maintains a low profile about their personal life. Finally, they made public and got married in 2018.
